Biography
Ringmasters is a barbershop quartet that was founded the fall of 2006. The group consists of Jacob Stenberg (tenor), Rasmus Krigström
(lead), Emanuel Roll (baritone) and Martin Wahlgren (bass), who all studied at Adolf Fredrik's school of music and graduated from
Stockholm's Music High School. It was through the school choir the four members got to know each other and realized their shared
passion for barbershop music. Today they are all singing in the barbershop choir Zero 8 and many other choral groups. On top of all
this, all four members practice different kinds of instruments. The Ringmasters find inspiration in other quartets such as Vocal
Spectrum, Take 6, Cadence, Four Voices and Second Edition. They are also inspired by bands such as the Beatles. Ringmasters stress
the point that practicing all different genres of music is highly important. This is clearly audible in their repertoire.
The group has competed in various barbershop competitions since their start in 2006 and they've been named "the young talents"
in barbershop circles. After singing together for only five months, the group managed to place 3rd in the Nordic Barbershop
Tournament during 2007. This made it possible for the quartet to compete in the International College Tournament in Denver the
same year. In October 2007, Ringmasters won IABS international barbershop tournament in Cork, Ireland.
The experiences gained from competitions abroad have given the quartet insight and knowledge of the barbershop world. The success
abroad has given Ringmasters a name in Sweden, Ireland and even the USA. The goal of tomorrow is the win the World Championship and
to put Sweden on barbershop world map once and for all.
